In the late 1800s, Marie Curie’s passion and perseverance drove her to make revolutionary contributions to science despite the prejudices she faced as a woman. Her discovery of radioactivity, radium, and polonium earned her two Nobel Prizes. She broke through scientific as well as gender barriers, ultimately creating an impact on science that still influences the development of physics and chemistry today.
